Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum is also known as Maritime Museum due to its Maritime history. The museum is situated in the Hatteras village on the southernmost coast of North Carolina. Museum was opened in the year 2002 and its location is 59200 Museum drive. This place remains open all around the year from Monday to Saturday and the timings are from 10:00 am – 04:00 pm. It is a state of the art that depicts the rich maritime culture and gives a vision of museum houses and artifacts. The reason behind it being called as Graveyard of Atlantic Museum is the shoreline of Sable Island, off Nova Scotia is filled with shipwrecks.

Dionysus’ 14-Ton Propeller

This propeller can be seen before entering the museum. This propeller is named after the name of the 1940s ship Dionysus. Dionysus is one among the all-other purposeful sunken ships near Oregon inlet. While the ship itself rests below inside the water and its propeller welcomes you to the museum.
