Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop Farm

A historic location that is one of the best stagecoach stops in Olathe, Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop Farm is a significant museum with wonders of history, made of stones by James B. and Lucinda Mahaffie. The museum encompasses 40 acres of land, locally known as Mahaffie Farmstead in Olathe, featuring an in-house blacksmith and many more artisans. The farm demonstrates the 1860s living history of work, life, and era-specific activities in the exhibits of the Heritage Center and the Agricultural Heritage Livestock Barn. In 1858, the stagecoach farm was founded by Mahaffie Family, and they stayed and worked here until 1886. With several reenactments, Mahaffie Farm is a 19th-century farm and includes showcases of working tools of the 1860s and working with horses, sheep, and other animal livestock. There are many videos about the history of the founder’s family to discover and learn about lifestyle and working procedures.
