It is situated in downtown Mesa, is 20 miles to the east of Phoenix and south of the Salt River. At the Mesa Arts center, varieties of shows are held from classical music concerts to Broadway-style productions. The center also features some of the best family shows like “Shrek the Musical” and the musical adaptation of the book “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus”.
The center also features Mesa Contemporary Arts Gallery which is a jewel in the crown of the Mesa Arts Centre. The art gallery exhibits brilliant work of contemporary art. It has a spacious surrounding which is surrounded by floods of natural light. There sit the metal sculptures of Marilyn da Silva and a translucent figure of Sara Rockinger.
You will be amazed to see the art pieces displayed in the Mesa arts gallery. The museum showcases a wide variety of art exhibitions and even people can join the workshop to learn the artwork and draw different things like traditional acrylic paintings or a human heart made from shoes. The museum has new exhibitions every three months so there is always something new to see. The focus of the art center is to inspire the audience with a diverse cultural experience.
Stroll along the Shadow walk which is a promenade in the inner courtyard. It is designed in such a way that it displays the shadow patterns created by overhead canopies and foliage under the sunlight of the desert. Musical performances, meals, and events are presented here.
You can also be a part of the center. The Mesa arts center offers classes like acting, singing, and glass blowing, etc. The workshops are held for kids as well as for adults. So there is something for everyone in the Mesa arts center.
Make sure you do not come here on Monday as it opens every day from 10 am to 5 pm except Mondays.
